With nationwide gas prices much lower than last year as we approach the Fourth of July holiday, many more folks will be taking to the highways to celebrate. Camping, family gatherings, vacations and visits to the lake are just some of the ways people will be celebrating the extended weekend, not to mention all those awesome fireworks displays! Julie Hall from AAA reported that over 43 million Americans are expected to travel over the Independence Day holiday weekend.
The North Dakota Oil Can!, presented by the North Dakota Petroleum Council, reported that Americans have save $20 billion so far this year compared to last year, due to lower gas prices. So while the industry might struggle to move forward with depressed oil prices, consumers are reveling in the lower price when filling up their tanks. Gas prices are the lowest they’ve been in more than a decade.
