WVU to host forum featuring US energy secretary

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) — West Virginia University will host an energy forum that features U.S. Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz.

WVU says the Mid-Atlantic Region Energy Innovation Forum on Monday will draw input from political, industry, academic and other leaders.

Panelists will discuss ways to accelerate energy innovation in the region.

Other presenters include Sen. Joe Manchin; Congressman David McKinley; Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development Secretary Dennis Davin; and WVU President Gordon Gee.

Moniz is also slated to tour Longview Power’s coal-fired plant Monday outside Morgantown.

The event is sponsored by the West Virginia University Energy Institute and will take place at WVU’s College of Law.
